Payson Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education met Dec. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER Lisa Schwartz, president, called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.

ROLL CALL Nancy Cromie, district secretary, called roll with the following members present: Denise Albsmeyer, Chanse Barker, Trista Neisen and Lisa Schwartz. Danelle Donley, Vinson Sill and Clint Twaddle were absent.

Also present were Donna Veile, Julie Phelan, Dawn VanCamp, Don Miller and Nancy Cromie.

VISITORS Shelley Flesner, Diane Germann, Tahnee Bauer, Lucas Brass, Jason Perry and Jennifer Barry

SENIOR TRIP Diane Germann shared with the board the potential timeline for the senior trip. A parent meeting will be set up.

AD REPORT Don Miller reported on the status of current sports.

 CONSENT AGENDA Barker made a motion to approve the consent agenda. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barker, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT Donna Veile shared the results of the ROE mini-compliance visit, talked about the upcoming 5 Essentials Survey and shared info about the ESSER III grant, adding that she continues to seek input for the use of those grant funds. The curriculum and building committees both shared reports from their meetings.

2021 TAX LEVY Schwartz made a motion to approve the 2021 tax levy. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Barker, Neisen, Albsmeyer and Schwartz NAY: None

JH SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN 1003(A) GRANT Albsmeyer made a motion to approve the JH School Improvement Plan 1003(A) Grant. Neisen seconded the motion. AYE: Neisen, Albsmeyer, Barker and Schwartz NAY: None

ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL REPORT Julie Phelan reported on Christmas dress up days. Community members adopted several families to give them a nice Christmas. PTO brought in treats all week for staff members.

SECONDARY PRINCIPAL REPORT Dawn VanCamp reported on the 12 days of December that staff and students had been participating in. Winter Ball was attended by 80 students. The Methodist Church helped several families with food baskets for Christmas. Finals are Thursday and Friday.

MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION Barker made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, and other items appropriate for closed session. Albsmeyer seconded the motion. AYE: Neisen, Albsmeyer, Barker and Schwartz NAY: None
 Entered into closed session at 7:39 p.m.

 RETURN TO OPEN SESSION Albsmeyer made a motion to return to open session. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barker, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None
 Returned to open session at 8:43 p.m.

 PERSONNEL ADDENDUM Neisen made a motion to approve the personnel addendum. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barker, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None

ADJOURNMENT Neisen made a motion to adjourn. Barker seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Barker, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None
 Meeting adjourned at 8:53 p.m.
