The Regular meeting of the Liberty Community Unit #2 Board of Education was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Members present: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 present o absent. Also present: Kelle Bunch, Jody Obert, Justin Edgar, Michael Smith, Schanan Kivett, Rachel Whitlock, Chris Taylor, Steve Buyck, Todd Obert, Kaylie Gilbert and Kim Gilbert.
Motion by Voga, seconded by Obert that the board of education open the Truth In Taxation Hearing. Time: 6:31 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
Motion by Voga, seconded by Derhake that the board of education approve the Routine Consent Agenda. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
Motion by Voga, seconded by Baucom that the board of education close the Truth In Taxation Hearing. Time: 6:59 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
Motion by Voga, seconded by Mixer that the board of education approve the Consent Agenda, striking item C. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
Michael Smith, Schanan Kivett, Rachel Whitlock, Chris Taylor, Steve Buyck, Todd Obert, Kaylie Gilbert and Kim Gilbert left at 7:10 p.m..
Motion by Voga, seconded by Barry that the board go into closed session. Time: 7:13 p.m. Meeting in Closed Session on the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the School District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves, as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District.; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of securities, investments, or investment contracts; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation; j) evaluation of attorney; k) approval of certain closed session minutes for distribution to the public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act. Motion by Voga, seconded by Derhake that the board of education approve the personnel report, as attached. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
