Blessing Mt. Sterling Clinic earns national accreditation

Healthevent

Blessing Hospital issued the following announcement on Jan. 14

The Blessing Mt. Sterling Clinic has been accredited as a Certified Rural Health Clinic, and granted Exemplary Provider status, by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services partner organization, The Compliance Team. The Compliance Team is the federally-authorized national healthcare accreditation organization for rural clinics.

To receive Certified Rural Health Clinic status, clinics must be located in rural, underserved areas. They are required to use a team approach of physicians working with non-physician providers such as nurse practitioners (NP), physician assistants (PA), to provide services, and are required to provide outpatient primary care services and basic laboratory services.

Exemplary Provider-accredited status is granted only to those healthcare providers who demonstrate outstanding patient care practices and compliance to comprehensive quality standards as verified and validated by The Compliance Team.

“While the Blessing Mt. Sterling Clinic opened only a short time ago, in November 2021, its uses tried and true processes, proven successful in our other nine rural health clinics, to deliver quality care on a consistent basis,” said Gina Genenbacher, director, Rural Health, Blessing Physician Services.

“Couple that fact with the skilled and dedicated team delivering care at the Blessing Mt. Sterling Clinic and the result is national accreditation with Exemplary Provider status, something the residents of Brown County and surrounding communities deserve from their healthcare provider.”

The Blessing Mt. Sterling Clinic, 521 East Main, Mt. Sterling, is open from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The Clinic phone number is 217-773-7105. New patients are being accepted.

Care is delivered by Mt. Sterling resident Dawn Koch, APRN-FNP, Family Medicine, under the direction of Terin Blanchard, MD, Medical Director. The Mt. Sterling Clinic provides onsite laboratory and radiology services.  Mt. Sterling resident Jenny Ebbing, RN, is Clinic office manager.
