Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Mendon Village Board of Trustees met in regular session on Thursday, October 14, 2021, in the Village Office. The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by Village Mayor David Wittler. Trustees present were: Bastert, Buss, Keefe, Moore and King. Trustee Cannell arrived at 7:09. Village Superintendent Cantrell, Village Clerk Woodruff, and Deputy Saalborn were present. There were no guests present.

∙ Traffic stop school zone – verbal warning

∙ Alarm at high school – no problem – school personnel forgot code

∙ Check on broken down vehicle Hwy 336 – got vehicle going

∙ Report of harassment – subject given option how to move forward with OP

∙ Discussion regarding issues on a recent evening at Chittenden Park

∙ New culverts – adding culverts in needed locations

∙ Playground equipment repairs complete

∙ Sidewalks completed, cones still at locations

∙ Old concrete – hauled off from local site

∙ Brass and copper scrap sold with a nice profit

∙ Grass is starting to slow down

Superintendent's Report

Mayor's Report:

∙ St. Edwards request for traffic control – Trustee Buss reported that Ashley Weeks had asked him to present a proposal to control traffic during the St. Edwards’s Thanksgiving meal drive through. Options were discussed.

∙ J. T. Houghton – All Star Concessions & Jay’s Resale is a new business that will be opening in Mendon in the near future.

∙ Lift station bid opening date was discussed.

∙ Bruce Duesterhaus request for street was discussed

∙ Corona Virus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (CLFR) application is in with a request for ($130,642.39). It is possible additional funds may be available. ∙ Gambling money receipts for the village share are nearing $100,000.

Correspondence:

∙ A thank you was received from the Congregational Church for a donation memorial for Ruth Evans.

To approve a request to control traffic on State Road during the St. Edward’s Catholic Church Thanksgiving meal drive thru on October 31, 2021. St. Edwards will be responsible for signage directing traffic and of notifying neighbors.

To approve the street project presented by Bruce Duesterhaus at the September village board meeting with the village to cover legal fees, and Mr. Duesterhaus covering all construction. The village will then take possession of and maintain the street upon completion
