RSVP of Adams County Volunteer Recognition Event at JWCC

27

John Wood Community College issued the following announcement on Oct. 22

JWCC celebrates our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) with a drive-through event!

JWCC hosted a drive-through appreciation lunch for the Adams County RSVP volunteers.  The JWCC Cheer Team, mascot Woody and a team of RSVP staff greeted all the volunteers. They were given a boxed lunch, a bag of special gifts and huge thanks for their service to our communities.

In April 2022 during National Volunteer Month, the Brown and Pike County RSVP members will be recognized and celebrated.

In the last year, even during the pandemic:

  • 476 Adams, Brown and Pike Counties RSVP members contributed 64,019 hours of volunteer service.
  • This contribution of time and experience equates to $1,717,629 in economic impact for the three-county area.
RSVP of Adams, Brown and Pike counties supports the ability of older adults and individuals with disabilities to live independently and to access food resources, disaster response, elder abuse, veteran and military family support, and building the capacity of local not-for-profits. Programming includes coordinating 550+ volunteers performing thousands of hours of service to more than 100 non-profits, schools, government agencies and faith-based organizations.
