Liberty Community Unit #2 Board met Sept. 8.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
The Special meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. Members present: Barry, Derhake, Mixer, Sims, and Voga. Absent: Baucom. 5 present 1 absent. Also present: Kelle Bunch, Jody Obert, and Justin Edgar, listing as attached.
Johnny Baucom arrived at 7:08 p.m.
Motion by Derhake, seconded by Baucom that the board go into closed session. Time: 7:44 p.m. Meeting in Closed Session on the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the School District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves, as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District.; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of securities, investments, or investment contracts; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation; j) evaluation of attorney; k) approval of certain closed session minutes for distribution to the public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act. Motion by Barry, seconded by Baucom that the board of education go out of closed session. Time: 9:39 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Sims, and Voga. 6 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
Motion by Derhake, seconded by Voga that the board of education approve the personnel report, as attached. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Sims, and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.
The board of education discussed the progress being made to offer COVID-19 salvia testing for the staff and students.
Motion by Barry, seconded Baucom by that the board of education adjourn. Time: 9:47 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Sims, and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.
