Liberty Community Unit School District #2 Board of Education met Sept. 22.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

1. Call to Order and Roll Call

2. Appoint the new school board member to complete the unexpired term vacancy from the Burton Township.

3. Administer the Oath for the new school board member.

4. Elect a Secretary Pro Tem.

5. Conduct hearing and consider/take action on recommendation for denial of admission of Citizen K.L. to school events for the rest of this academic school year 2021-22, pursuant to Policy 8:30

6. Recognition of Visitors and Staff - a limit of ten minutes per group

A. Public Comment - This is the only time of this meeting open for public comment

B. Open the FY22 Budget Hearing

C. Close the FY 22 Budget Hearing

F. Approval of the Imprest Report

9. Consent Agenda

A. Approve the FY 22Proposed Budget.

B. Approve the Seniority Lists for certified, support, and bus drivers/monitors.

C. Approve the Agreement with Birch Agency to cover a maternity leave for speech teacher, Stevi Smith, from August 31-November 23, 2021.

D. Approve the School Improvement Goals for 2021-22.

E. Approve the Resolution to participate in the Illinois Federal Surplus Property Program.

10. Board Discussion and Action

A. Approve the Agreement with Achieve to offer saliva tests for staff who prefer not to vaccinate.

B. Approve applying for the FY22 Maintenance Grant for carpet in K-2 classrooms and the band & chorus rooms.

12. Meeting in Closed Session on the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees , specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the School District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on complaint lodged against and employee, a specific individual who serves, as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District.; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of securities, investments, or investment contracts; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation; j) evaluation of attorney; k) approval of certain closed session minutes for distribution to the public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act.

14. The Board reserves the right to take up, consider and act upon any other and further matters necessary or convenient for the orderly operation of the district and its schools.
