Village of Mendon Village Board met July 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Mendon Village Board of Trustees met in regular session on Thursday, July 8, 2021, in the Village Office. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Village Mayor David Wittler. Trustees present were: Bastert, Buss, and Cannell. Trustee King arrived at 7:06 and Trustees Moore and Keefe were absent. Village Superintendent Cantrell and Village Clerk Woodruff were present. There were no guests present.

Deputies Report:

∙ Traffic stop - subject on golf car by park. No sticker – subject took golf cart home. Verbal warning.

∙ Theft report of several catalytic converters. ACSO investigation working case have interviewed suspect.

∙ Backed up county on burglary call in county.

∙ Dog call

∙ 4 traffic stops – verbal warnings

∙ Ordinance violation regarding vehicle – letter sent out. Vehicle moved behind residence. Four wheelers have not been out on football practice field since notification.

∙ Ordinance violation regarding trash – letter sent out. Contacted resident. They will be taking trash to curb tonight for trash pickup.

∙ Street repairs update

∙ Sidewalks (3L) – will complete by fall

∙ Backhoe repair – one problem – bad fuse – waiting on bill

∙ Tool purchases – discussion regarding estate tool purchase

∙ Other – keeping up with mowing, and cleaning park.

∙ Village Clean Up – 8 loads

∙ Kids’ fishing tournament – cancelled for this year due to rain

∙ Fireworks – Complaints regarding viewing options

∙ Sidewalk to Dollar General – look at possible bike path option

∙ Pest Management – to start spraying for mosquitoes soon

∙ IEPA Tri-annual Inspection – report and summary discussed – reports filed at office.

∙ Cross Connection Surveys must be completed

∙ Thank you from G. Schaffer – scholarship recipient

∙ Discussion was held regarding possible other activities at the old NAH property
