Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on July 19

Blessing Health System is reminding those who plan to visit a hospitalized COVID-19 patient to have their COVID vaccination card with them, or they will not be able to visit.

This policy has been in effect since early June of this year at Blessing Hospital, Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield and Blessing Health Keokuk. Blessing is issuing the reminder as COVID cases continue to rise in the region. The vaccination policy for those visiting a COVID patient is for the safety of all patients, staff and visitors.

Hospitalized COVID positive patients may have one visitor per day, between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm, if the visitor is fully vaccinated. The visitor must have received their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than 14 days before the visit. Visitors to COVID positive patients must bring proof of their vaccination and wear the Personal Protective Equipment they will be given by the hospital when entering the patient’s room.
