Liberty FPD responds to 24 fires in 2018

Liberty Fire Protection District responded to 25 calls in 2018 - same as the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Liberty included 24 fires - eight structure fires, three vehicle fires and 13 other fires.

The department also received one false call.

Two fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents.

The Libertyville Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 41 active employees and 28 retired or inactive employees, was $999,334 positive as of April 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $45,424 for every fire in 2017.
