Quincy Medical Group issued the following announcement on Aug. 26.
Jeanine Johnson is one of the first Quincy Medical Group patients to benefit from our new stationary PET scan services (pictured here) located in the QMG Cancer Institute.
Jeanine, who was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, knows firsthand the ups and downs that come with a cancer diagnosis. As part of her journey, she has had to undergo many tests, including the PET scan, which helps doctors more accurately detect the presence and location of cancer cells. During her last PET scan in 2018, Jeanine was scanned at the mobile unit formerly located outside of our facility. A few weeks ago, though, her doctor, Dr. M. Amjad Ali, ordered another scan. This time, her PET scan took place inside the comfort of our facility.
“It was a very positive experience. On the truck it was different. This time I felt more comfortable. The staff who helped me were great. They took the time to explain everything they were doing, asked me if there was anything they could do for me, and checked on me periodically.”
Jeanine says her gratitude for the QMG Cancer Institute team extends beyond her PET scan experience.
“Everything is good at the Cancer Institute, everything. When you hear you have cancer, that’s a big lump in your throat. Everyone has been so caring and I can’t say enough about Dr. Ali. He’s brought me a long way. He always has your best interest at heart and he’s thinking of you with everything he does. He’s not only a really great doctor, he’s a really great person.”
