Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on Aug. 3.
Blessing Hospice’s Butterfly Moments event will not be held this year due to concern over spread of COVID-19.
Blessing Hospice has hosted the event each August for the past several years, with people gathering at a Quincy park to release butterflies they had purchased in memory of a departed loved one. The event attracts several hundred people each year.
Blessing Hospice plans to host Butterfly Moments again in August of 2021 as long as conditions allow.
