Village of Mendon Village Board met May 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Mendon Village Board of Trustees met in regular session in the Mendon Township Town Hall (Due to the state requirement for social distancing due to the corona virus outbreak). The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Village Mayor Dean Woodruff. Trustees present were Buss, Cannell, King, Moore, Voss. Absent - Wittler. Village Superintendent Cantrell and Village Clerk Woodruff were present.

Public Comments

 None

Motion: King

Second: Buss

To approve the minutes of the April 9, 2020, meeting as read.

Action Vote: All – Aye – Motion Carried

Motion: Cannell

Second: Voss

To approve the final April bills and payroll for the end of the 2019 – 2020 fiscal year as presented and recommended by the finance committee.

Action Vote: All – Aye – Motion Carried

Deputy's Report

 Verbal warning to subject riding 4 wheeler in yard

 Removal of abandoned vehicle

 QPD home invasion subject pursuit through Mendon. Subject caught in McDonough County

Maintenance Superintendent's Report

 Street Project Update - Four Points

 Disposal of Old Outdate Christmas Decorations - try to sell on Facebook  Street Project Update – Four Points

 Long Street Meter - All working

 Sewer Project adjustments on payment

 Restrooms at park plumbing fixed

 Car driving in park

Mayor's Report

 Mobile Home Inspection completed 4 empty trailers at one location; other is clean and neat and one has been demolished.

 Garage sales discussion regarding having it in the fall in coordination with Old Timers Association Fall Flea Market.to be determined by State Regulations

 Cleanup Day still scheduled - June 8, 2020 6AM

 Audit to start soon

 North Lift Station

 Income will be drastically reduced IML says maybe 30%

 Water Billing - how to handle communication

 Hot Spot in Town - Grant could be completed by Library to have a hot spot at Park

Other Business

Discussion regarding Mosquito spraying

Discussion regarding a ditch drainage issue on North Chestnut

Motion: Cannell

Second: Buss

To allow NO new trailer parks or new trailers be allowed in Mendon as of May 14, 2020. The only licenses to be issued will be to the current owners of the two trailer parks. Should ownership change, the village will no longer issue licenses to new owners of trailer parks.

Action Vote: All – Aye – Motion Carried

Motion: King

Second: Buss

To amend budget for 2019-2020 as follows: #5800 Street increased to $25,000

#5075 Garbage Pickup increased to $8,000

#6006 Payroll Co. increased to $10,000

#6034 Superintendent Salary to $48,600

#6016 Secretary Salary to $18,00

Action Vote: All – Aye except for Darla Moore who abstained. – Motion Carried

Second: Moore

To approve the 20-21 Budget a copy of which is attached to and made a part of these minutes.

Action Vote: All – Aye – Motion Carried

Motion: Voss

Second: Cannell

To approve meeting dates 2nd Thursday of each month to begin at 7PM

Action Vote: All – Aye – Motion Carried

Motion: Voss

Second: Moore

To adjourn to the next regularly scheduled meeting. Meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM.
