QUINCY MEDICAL GROUP: QMG Now: Where to go for Care

Healthevent

Quincy Medical Group issued the following announcement on June 22.

When you, or a member of your family, come down with an illness or suffer an injury, there are a lot of factors that weigh on your decision of where to go for care. Cost, safety, convenience, and timeliness are all things to consider.

Quincy Medical Group (QMG) addresses these factors with QMG Now. QMG Now, formerly Ambulatory Care Center, provides patients with immediate access to care at a low cost in a safe, comfortable environment.

Dr. Ernest Wallace, physician with QMG Now, says the QMG Now team is here to care for a wide range of illnesses and injuries. Open seven days a week, QMG Now offers same-day care, no appointment needed. You can come in and be seen for urgent needs or come at a time convenient for your schedule.

“QMG NOW is a great place to be seen for so many things. Sometimes things happen on evenings or weekends or your primary care provider may not be available and you need to be seen now,” he shared. “So many patients that would otherwise end up in an emergency room can be treated at QMG Now. We offer a fast and less costly option than the emergency room and most of the time the cost is the same as seeing your regular doctor.”

Dr. Wallace and his colleagues Dr. David Arndt, Dr. Timothy Jacobs, and Dr. Travis Moore have been practicing together for many years now. Together, they have over 80 years of combined medical experience in urgent care and have been the core providers of QMG’s walk-in service for ten years together.

“We function as a team of providers that loves their job and works together for patients to provide a high level, relatively low cost, easy access model of care,” he shared. “Unlike many quick care clinics, we are staffed by physician providers with years of experience and we have immediate access to many extensive tests and resources right at the clinic without having to go offsite.”

These tests and resources include CT scans, ultrasounds, IV fluids in our Infusion Center, routine labs, x-rays, and EKGs. All are offered onsite. Another benefit, Dr. Wallace says, is being part of the QMG network of specialists.

“Being part of Quincy Medical Group provides us access to a wide range of specialists that we can refer to if needed, even often same day if emergent or follow-up can be arranged if less urgent,” he says. “It truly is QMG Now for all of QMG. We are a good entry point if you have an issue and don’t know where to start.”

QMG Now has enhanced the care experience to meet the needs of patients today, including offering Telehealth visits, and car waiting which allow patients to check-in from their vehicles and be brought directly to an exam room.

To utilize car check-in or to check availability of telehealth visits, call 217-222-6550, ext. 3433.

QMG Now is located at 1025 Maine St. Beginning Monday, June 8, hours will be: Monday through Friday 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, visit quincymedgroup.com/QMGNow.
