Adams County Board Finance Committee met May 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Adams County Board Finance Committee held their regular meeting in the County Board room at 507 Vermont Street, Quincy, Illinois, May 12, 2020.

The following members were present:

Bret Austin, Chairman

Taylor Rakers

Matt Obert (teleconference)

David Hoskins

Barney Bier

Others present:

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Bret Austin.

Approval of Prior Minutes:

Mr. Hoskins made a motion to approve the April 13, 2020 meeting minutes. Mr. Rakers seconded the motion.

The minutes were approved.

Bills:

The committee reviewed bills and stamped as “Checked.”

Fund Appropriation

a. Additional Fund Appropriation – From Sue Hester, Director of Administrative Services – an increase of $2,925.00 to Revenue Account Line Item # 021-102-4230 – CIRMA Dividend Return – for a revised budget amount of $2,925.00.

a. Mr. Bier made a motion to approve the additional fund appropriation. Mr. Rakers seconded the motion. The motion carries.

Mr. Austin shared that he asked the Department Heads to review their budgets and submit a proposed 5% reduction. Mrs. Hester will send the Finance Committee the budget spreadsheet with the YTD information, along with last year’s budget meeting schedule to build out a revised schedule to meet with department heads in the coming weeks. The goal is to have one budget transfer in the June meeting for expenses; and possibly a revenue adjustment during the July meeting.

Mr. Cory informed the committee of an idea that some other Treasurer’s have shared to possibly include paid advertisement in tax bills as a revenue source. The committee held a brief discussion about the idea.

Mr. Bier made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Rakers seconded the motion.
