City of Quincy City Council met April 27.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

PETITION

Wards 1, 3 By the Optimist Club of Quincy resubmitting their request to close 18th St. from Kochs Lane to Seminary Rd. with new dates of July 24th and July 25th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the Quincy Derby. They request barricades and “Road Closed to Through Traffic” signs at 18th and Koch’s Lane, 18th Seminary Rd, the intersection of Hollister Whitney Blvd and Quintron Way and by the south entrance to Tom Awerkamp Bridge. Barricades needed at Hollister Whitney Blvd and Quintron Way and the intersection of Quintron Way and Schneidman St. “No Parking” signs are needed along the east side of Schneidman St. from Hollister Whitney Blvd. to Quintron Way.

REPORTS OF THE PLAN COMMISSION

Ward 4 Recommending approval of a request for a zoning change from R2 to C1B on property located at 1501 Broadway, 1503 Broadway, and 1507 Broadway. The committee notes that the petitioner no longer plans to build a dental clinic and parking area on the lots as initially proposed.

Ward 1 Recommending approval of a request for a zoning change from R2 to R3 on property located at 300 Cedar Street to comply with multi-family density requirements.

PROCLAMATION

Week of May 5th – 11th as “Professional Municipal Clerks Week”

RESOLUTIONS

Mayor and the City Treasurer recommending approval to issue an additional credit for one month to the City Liquor License Classes in the following amount for the annual renewals on July 1, 2020: Class A, Retail - $60, Class D, Multi-Bar - $65, Class F, Catering - $65, Class I, Gaming - $830, Night club - $200.

Resolution Authorizing Financial Relief For Quincy Aviation. ($6,500 rent rebate, rent deferment and fuel-flowage fees.)

Ward 7 Council Resolution Authorizing Submission And Support For Grown-N-Gathered Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grant Application.

Ward 2 Council Resolution Authorizing Submission And Support For Verve Aesthetics Inc. Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grant Application

Ward 1 Council Resolution Authorizing Submission And Support For Sterling Awards & Signs Inc. Downstate Small Business Stabilization Grant Application.
