Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Adams County?

There were 26 offenders released on parole during the second quarter of 2019 that live in Adams County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Quincy Reporter.

The data shows that 21 men and five women were released in Adams County. The median age of the parolees was 33. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2018, and the oldest was a 55-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Shawn D. Steele. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2012 when he was 40 years old. He is now 48.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter of 2019 in each Adams County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
