Adams County Board Executive Committee met Jan. 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The following members were present:

R. Kent Snider

Bret Austin

Ryan Niekamp

Rebecca Weed

Les Post

Others present:

John Simon

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chairman Snider.

Mr. Niekamp made a motion to approve the December 2, 2019 meeting minutes. Mr. Austin seconded the motion. The meeting minutes were approved.

No updates on the Riverfront Development or the PACE program.

Mr. Niekamp reminded the committee that the ETSB board is having Cindy Barbera-Brelle, the Illinois Statewide 911 Administrator, attend the January 15th ETSB meeting to answer any questions the Board or the public may have about the 911 Board.

The committee discussed increasing the mileage rate to meet the IRS rate. Mr. Austin and Mr. Niekamp will have a discussion and look into the numbers.

Appointments by Chairman Snider:

• Ambulance Board Appointment – Karla Paris, Blessing Hospital

• Riverfront Development – Bret Austin, County Board; David Bellis, County Board; Duane Venvertloh, At Large.

• John Heidbreder replacement on County Board – Barney Bier

• Port Authority Board Appointments – Postpone one month until February.

Elected Official Salaries – The committee will need to set the salary for the States Attorney, Circuit Clerk, Coroner, and County Board. The members discussed tabling any increase to the County Board until 2022 when all board positions are up for re-election. This might be a good time to end the mileage reimbursement program for County Board members as well.

Mr. Austin made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Niekamp seconded the motion. Chairman Snider adjourned the meeting at 6:20 p.m.
