Quincy Public School District 172 Board met Sept. 30.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Meeting Convened

The Board of Education of School District No. 172, Adams County, Illinois, met in special session on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. in the Board of Education Office, Room 214, located at 1416 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois, in said school district.

Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by Vice-President Troup, who directed the secretary to call the roll. On the call of the roll, the following members were present and answered to their names: Members Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following members were absent: Members Ali and McNay. Whereupon the Vice- President declared a quorum was present.

Pledge of Allegiance

Vice-President Troup led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Questions and Comments

Vice-President Troup opened the meeting to questions and comments to members of the Board, by members of the public and employees of the district, in compliance with state statutes. There were none.

Sale of Berrian School

It was moved by Member Bailey and seconded by Member Whitfield to approve the Memorandum of Sale of Berrian Elementary School at the high bid of $150,000 to Tim and Jessica Bichsel (Doc. Reg. No. 3104). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None; and the following members were absent: Members Ali and McNay. Whereupon the Vice-President declared the motion carried.

Sale of Berrian Lot

It was moved by Member Arns and seconded by Member Troup to approve the Memorandum of Sale of Berrian Lot at the high bid of $31,000 to Duane Venvertloh (Doc. Reg. No. 3105). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None; and the following members were absent: Members Ali and McNay. Whereupon the Vice-President declared the motion carried.

Sale of Ellington School

It was moved by Member Whitfield and seconded by Member Bailey to approve the Memorandum of Sale of Ellington Elementary School at the high bid of $42,000 to AMB Real Estate Holdings (Doc. Reg. No. 3106). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield;

and the following member voted Nay: None; and the following members were absent: Members Ali and McNay. Whereupon the Vice-President declared the motion carried.

Adams and Madison Schools

The Board discussed options for the sale of Adams and Madison School which did not sell at auction.

Adjourn

It was moved by Member Arns and seconded by Member Whitfield that the special meeting adjourn. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Arns, Bailey, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None; and the following members were absent: Members Ali and McNay. Whereupon the Vice-President declared the motion carried and the special meeting was duly adjourned.
