Adams County Board Transportation, Building & Technology Committee met Aug. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairman Les Post called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. in the law library.

Present Committee Members: John Brady, Steve DeMoss, Joe Zanger & Dave Bellis.

Also present were: County Engineer Jim Frankenhoff, Business Manager Dave Bockhold, Jen Powers, States Attorney Gary Farha, Sue Hester and John Frankenhoff.

Absent: None.

Mr. DeMoss made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 9, 2019 committee meeting as printed and distributed. Mr. Bellis seconded the motion. Motion to approve the minutes passed unanimously. 

The Committee reviewed, approved and signed off on the bills. 

The Committee reviewed, approved and signed a resolution reporting bids from the July 16, 2019 County Motor Fuel Tax Maintenance Letting and awarding a contract to A.C Pavement Striping Construction Company for oil and chip sealing various County Highways to be forwarded to the County Board for final approval. 

The Committee reviewed, approved and signed a resolution reporting bids from the July 16, 2019 Road District Motor Fuel Tax Maintenance Letting and awarding a contract to Diamond Construction Company for oil and chip sealing various roads in various Adams County Road Districts to be forwarded to the County Board for final approval. 

The Committee reviewed and approved a resolution for approval of a Plat of Jim's Handy Storage Subdivision, located in Section 31 of Gilmer Township, subject to approval of the County Engineer's subdivision checklist, to be forwarded to the full County Board for approval. 

The Committee reviewed and approved a Resolution of Support for the Improvement of Illinois Route 57, to be forwarded to the full County Board for final approval. 

The Committee discussed changes to be made in the Law Library with Jen Powers and it was decided that only the west side of the room would have anything done to it. 

Jim Frankenhoff presented the Committee with a renewal proposal for the Pavement Management System from Applied Research Associates and during discussion it was decided to look at other companies and try to negotiate a lower price with ARA and report back at next month's meeting.

Jim Frankenhoff informed the Committee of the results of the bid letting for two dump trucks held earlier in the day. It was decided to purchase a tandem axle dump truck from Quincy Mack and a Western Star single axle dump truck from Midway Freightliner on a motion by Joe Zanger, which was seconded by Dave Bellis and passed unanimously.

Jim Frankenhoff updated the committee on the status of various projects. 

The committee discussed the tower lease renewal, decided to seek advice from Steel in the Air and instructed Sue Hester to set up a meeting with American Tower. 

The committee discussed problems with the roof above the County Clerk's office, Dave Bellis is going to take a look at it with Terry Bower. 

Mr. DeMoss made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Zanger seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 6:55 P.M.
