Liberty Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met May 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Regular meeting was called to order at 6:31 p.m. Members present: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. Absent: Clark. 6 present 1 absent. Also present, Kelle Bunch, Justin Edgar, Michael Smith, Justin Adams, Thera Green, Wes Geczi, Marissa Mintle, Justine Obert, Brenda Meyer, Brenton Douglas, Jessica Douglas, Patricia Huddleston, Cliff Huddleston and Amy Allen.

Marissa Mintle and Justine Obert left at 6:49 p.m.

Wes Geczi left at 7:16 p.m.

Jody Obert arrived at 7:18 p.m.

Justin Adams left at 7:27 p.m.

Brenton Douglas, Jessica Douglas, Patricia Huddleston and Cliff Huddleston left at 7:52 p.m.

Motion by Krutmeier, seconded by Schmidt that the board of education approve the routine consent agenda. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.

Motion by Poulter, seconded by Voga that the board of education approve the consent agenda. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.

Thera Green left at 8:03 p.m.

Amy Allen left at 8:07 p.m.

Brenda Meyer left at 8:31 p.m.

Motion by Poulter, seconded by Mixer that the board of education approve the concrete bid from Graham and Klauser Construction, as attached. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.

Motion by Krutmeier, seconded by Mixer that the board of education approve the FFA Test Plot Agreements with Frank Ley, LB Waterkoette, Prairie Land FS and Steve and Kim Buyck. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.

Page 2- Regular May 20, 2019 meeting Motion by Krutmeier, seconded by Schmidt that the board of education approve the quote from Adams Experts to install phones in the classrooms (per Security Audit-phase four) using Tort Funds. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes nays. M.C.

Motion by Mixer, seconded by Schmidt that the board of education approve the purchase of 100 Chrome books to replenish our technology devices using REAP Grant and Technology Funds. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.

Michael Smith left at 9:05 p.m.

Motion by Krutmeier, seconded by Voga that the board of education go into closed session.

Time: 9:06 p.m. To consider the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the School District; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of investments; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation; j) attorney/client privilege k) approval of closed session minutes for distribution to the public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.

Motion by Krutmeier, seconded by Voga that the board of education go out of closed session. Time: 10:51 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes ( nays. M.C.

Motion by Voga, seconded by Poulter that the board of education approve the personnel report, except item #5 which will be voted on separately. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes O nays. M.C.

Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Krutmeier that the board of education approve Sara Schuette as High School Volleyball Coach. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Poulter and Schmidt. Nay Mixer and Voga. 4 ayes 2 nays. M.C.

Motion by Krutmeier, seconded by Voga that the board of education adjourn. Time: 10:53 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Krutmeier, Mixer, Poulter, Schmidt and Voga. 6 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
