City of Quincy City Council met July 29.

Here is the agenda provided by the council:

PETITIONS

Ward 3 By the Quincy Symphony requesting permission to host a “Beat Beethoven” 5k run on September 7th starting at 8:00 a.m. to benefit the Quincy Symphony. They will start at 36th St. and Wavering Park, east to 39th St., right on Columbus Road, left on Columbus Rd to Nottingham Dr., North to Abbey Ridge, west through Abbey Ridge to Marian Drive, west to 39th Street north through Moorman Park back to 36th St. & Wavering Park entrance.

Ward 7 Revocable permit application for encroachment of city right-of-way from Dick Brothers Inc. Ward requesting permission to build a new entryway consisting of an ADA compliant ramp and adjoining staircase on the south side of the building located at 931 York Street. The Utilities and Engineering Director presents this request subject to four conditions.

Ward 1 By Jefferson Youth Center requesting to close Cedar St. from 4th – 5th on July 30th from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. for Junior Police Academy Vehicle Day. Barricades needed.

REPORTS OF THE QUINCY PLAN COMMISSION

Ward 4 Recommending approval of the requested zoning change from R1C (Single-Family Residential) to C2 (Commercial) for property located at 2330 Spring Street.

Ward 3 Recommending approval of a one-lot subdivision of property located at 6708 Hickory Grove North under the “small tracts” provision of the subdivision ordinance.

Ward 6 Recommending approval of the requested subdivision of properties located at 1337 S. 12th St., 1339 S. 12th St., 1341 S. 12th St., and 1420 S. 14th St. under the “small tracts” provision of the subdivision ordinance.

Ward 6 Recommending approval of zoning changes from R1C (Single-Family Residential) and C1A (Limited Local Commercial) to C1B (Limited Local Commercial) for properties located at 1337 S. 12th St., 1339 S. 12th St., 1341 S. 12th St., 1343 S. 12th St., and 1420 S. 14th St.

RESOLUTIONS

Utilities and Engineering Director and Central Services Committee recommending approval of the quote from Blackhawk Technology Company of Glen Ellyn, IL in the amount of $15,345.96 for two solar dewatering pumps for the removal of leachate from Landfill #4.

Utilities and Engineering Director and Central Services Committee recommending approval of the purchase of a Versalift VST-47-MHI aerial platform lift mounted on a 2019 Ford F-550 cab chassis at the cost of $130,346 from Drake Scruggs Equip., Springfield, IL.

Fire Chief recommending approval of the invoice in the amount of $14,862.50 to be paid to the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association to perform a Consolidation Feasibility Analysis.

ORDINANCES Second presentation of an ordinance entitled:

An Ordinance Establishing Salaries For Certain Elected Officials. (Change in Health Insurance eligibility after 4/30/2021.)

First presentation of an ordinance entitled:

An Ordinance Amending Chapter 161 (Subdivision Regulations Of The Municipal Code Of The City Of Quincy (2015). (Amending private street construction requirements.)
