Quincy Public School District 172 Board met April 29. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Meeting Convened

The Board of Education of School District No. 172, Adams County, Illinois, met in special session on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. in the Board of Education Office, Room 214, located at 1416 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois, in said school district.

Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by President Ali, who directed the secretary to call the roll. On the call of the roll, the following members were present and answered to their names: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following members were absent: None. Whereupon the President declared a quorum was present.

Pledge of Allegiance

President Ali led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Questions and Comments

President Ali opened the meeting to questions and comments to members of the Board, by members of the public and employees of the district, in compliance with state statutes. There were none.

Bid for Masonry Restoration at QJHS

It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Ali to approve bids A-H for exterior repair at a cost of $1,569,852 as submitted by Staat Tuckpointing and Waterproofing to be completed over three years (Doc. Reg. No. 3078). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Resumption of Rules

It was moved by Member Arns and seconded by Member Troup to appoint committee chairs for the next two years. The chairpersons are as follows:

   Building and Grounds                                         Richard McNay, Chair, Mike Troup, Co-Chair

   Curriculum/Discipline/Dist Improvement Team   Sheldon Bailey/Shelley Arns – Chairs

   Finance                                                                Richard McNay, Chair. Mike Troup, Co-Chair

   Human Relations                                                 Carol Nichols, Chair, Jim Whitfield, Co-Chair

   Policy Committee                                                 Sheldon Bailey, Chair, Jim Whitfield, Co-Chair

On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Amended Revised Personnel Addendum

It was moved by Bailey and seconded by Member Rose to approve the Revised Personnel Addendum as Amended from the April 24, 2019 regular meeting. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Adjourn

It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Whitfield that the special meeting adjourn. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the special meeting was duly adjourned.
