2018 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 62301 convicted of crimes against the government

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against the government released on parole near Illinois zip code 62301 during 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Quincy Reporter.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in 62301 were men. Of these parolees, one is a veteran. The younger parolee was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 2016. The other was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Michael D. Howser. He was convicted of a crime against the government in 2016 when he was 37 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
