Q3 2018 Recap: Parolees in Quincy convicted of property crimes

There were five offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Quincy during the third quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Quincy Reporter.

The data shows that three men and two women were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for property crimes, one is a veteran, and the median age is 41. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 52-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Nicholas L. Salyer. He was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when he was 45 years old. He is now 49.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q3 2018 who were convicted of property crimes.
