CITY OF QUINCY: Yard Waste Collection Resumes the week of March 19

City of Quincy issued the following announcement on March 1.

Yard Waste Collection Resumes the week of March 18

Yard Waste Collection will resume in Quincy the week of March 18. At that time Evans Recycling will collect yard waste in marked containers and the special yard waste paper bags. Marked containers must be marked with a 2 inch wide stripe in a contrasting color 12 inches from the top of the container.

In order for yard waste (leaves and grass) to be collected, it must be bagged, bundled or in cans (loose) and placed at the curb. Yard waste can be stored in marked reusable containers or in biodegradable paper bags which are sold in local stores. Containers should be marked with a 2 inch stripe in a contrasting color approximately 12 inches from the top of the container. Plastic bags are not accepted. Total weight of bags must not exceed 40 lbs. 55 gal. drums cannot be used.

Branches are not to exceed 1” in diameter and 4’ in length. The City of Quincy and Evans Recycling would like to remind citizens that trash, garbage, or recycle items should not be placed in yard waste bags.

The hours of operation at Evans Recycling, 711 West Radio Road are currently:

December 1st - March 17th, 2019

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturdays (December 1st - March 16th)

8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Sundays (December 1st – March 17th)

CLOSED

After March 18, 2019 until December 1st, 2019 Daily

7:00 AM -7:00 PM

Beginning March 18 Evan’s Recycling

will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday – Saturday.

The disposal site shall be closed New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Property owners in the City of Quincy are allowed to take their yard waste to the site during the above listed dates and hours.
