Quincy Public School District 172 Human Relations Committee will meet on March 6. 

Here is the agenda as provided by the committee:

1. Call to Order


      a.) Roll call

      b.) Recognize all visitors

2. Approval of Agenda & Minutes

3. Committee Discussion Items:

      • Special Education Time Study/Data Collection Update

      • Staff Survey- After March 15th

      • Competency Based Education Hires

      • Teacher Residency Grant

      • New Hire Survey Results

4. Questions and Comments from the Public

      • New Hire Survey Results

            a. New hire suggestions

      • New Teacher Induction

           1. Condense New Teacher Induction at Board Office, give more time in buildings

           2. Create more time to work with grade level teams

           3. Have more time to learn about curriculum before school starts

           4. Skyward Training

      • Offer semester trainings

      • More people to help in the classroom, i.e. aids, admin, paras, etc.

      • Revisit onboarding process

          1. Can hiring paperwork be done electronically?

                 b. QPS Teacher Mentor Program suggestions

      • Intentional pairing/matching

      • Go-to person on grade level team

      • More information on how to integrate technology

      • Social gatherings for new staff

              c. Reasons why staff might leave QPS

      • Need more social/emotional support for students

      • Training for co-teachers
