City of Quincy City Council will meet on February 4. 

Here is the agenda as provided by the council:

Petitions


Ward 3

By ADM requesting North 30th street be closed from Chestnut street to just north of the scale house (right before the entrance to Titan Wheel) for an open house on April 3, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The County Board has already approved their portion of the street closing.

Wards 3,4

By the Quincy Family YMCA requesting permission to hold the “Annual Kelly’s Fun Run” 5K Run/Walk on March 10th beginning at 9:00 a.m. starting at Kelly’s parking lot going south on 30th to Maine, east to Flynn Stadium, back west on Maine to 30th, north to Kelly’s Parking lot.

Ward 7

Application for Revocable Permit for Encroachment of City Right-of-Way from DP Construction requesting permission to block the sidewalk in front of the building located at 511 Maine St. to allow for the removal of windows from February 1st through February 8th, weather permitting. The Utilities and Engineering Director of presents this request subject to four conditions.

Ward 7

By Five Alarm Fireworks requesting permission to hold a pyrotechnics display on February 9th at the Oakley Lindsey Center “Hairball” event. The Quincy Fire Department has given their approval.

The report recommending approval of a special permit to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages on the property at 1001 N. 5th, was tabled one week by Ald. Bauer.

Utilities and Engineering Director recommending the purchase of traffic signal parts in the amount of $4,713.25 from Tri-Star Supply of South Elgin, IL.

Central Service Director and Central Services Committee recommending approval of the unit price per ton of $68.88 for a requested amount up to 1,000 tons procurement of road salt for 2018/2019 snow and ice season for a total amount of $68,880 with approximately $50,000 paid from MFTF and approximately $18,880 from Centrals Services.
