Meeting Convened
The Board of Education of School District No. 172, Adams County, Illinois, met in special session on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. in the Board of Education Office, Room 214, located at 1416 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois, in said school district.
Roll Call
The meeting was called to order by Vice-President Troup, who directed the secretary to call the roll. On the call of the roll, the following members were present and answered to their names: Members Arns, Bailey, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following members were absent: Members Ali, McNay and Nichols. Whereupon the Vice- President declared a quorum was present.
Pledge of Allegiance
Vice-President Troup led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Questions and Comments
Vice-President Troup opened the meeting to questions and comments to members of the Board, by members of the public and employees of the district, in compliance with state statutes. There were none.
Sale of Property – QAVTC Building Trades House and Lind Street Lots
There were no bids received for the QAVTC Building Trades House at 515 S. 17th St or the three lots on Lind Street. The properties can now be sold by a realtor for no less than the minimum bid or another auction could be held.
Dell Lease for Staff Computers
It was moved by Member Bailey and seconded by Member Whitfield to approve the lease with Dell Computers for 575 staff computers to be paid over three years at a total cost of $466,934.05 (Doc. Reg. No. 3039). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Arns, Bailey, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None; and the following members were absent; Members Ali, McNay and Nichols. Whereupon the Vice-President declared the motion carried.
Gas Line Connection Agreement
It was moved by Member Arns and seconded by Member Bailey to approve the Gas Line Connection Agreement related to the sale of the Dewey lots. The cost of $8,686.28 to move the gas line will be split between Quincy School District and the buyer of the property (Doc. Reg. No. 3040). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Arns, Bailey, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None; and the following members were absent; Members Ali, McNay and Nichols. Whereupon the Vice-President declared the motion carried.
Adjourn
It was moved by Member Whitfield and seconded by Member Bailey that the special meeting adjourn. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Arns, Bailey, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None; and the following members were absent; Members Ali, McNay and Nichols. Whereupon the Vice-President declared the motion carried and the special meeting was duly adjourned.
