Quincy Public School District 172 Board met Oct. 3.

Meeting Convened

The Board of Education of School District No. 172, Adams County, Illinois, met in special session on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. in the Board of Education Office, Room 214, located at 1416 Maine Street, Quincy, Illinois, in said school district.

Roll Call

The meeting was called to order by President Ali, who directed the secretary to call the roll. On the call of the roll, the following members were present and answered to their names: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member was absent: None. Whereupon the President declared a quorum was present.

Pledge of Allegiance

President Ali led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Questions and Comments

President Ali opened the meeting to questions and comments to members of the Board, by members of the public and employees of the district, in compliance with state statutes. There were none.

Executive Session

It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Bailey that the Board suspend the rules and go into executive session to discuss: d) the sale or lease of property owned by the District. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Resumption of Rules

At 8:35 a.m., it was moved by Member McNay and seconded by Member Troup to resume the conduct of the special meeting under rules. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Property – Washington School

It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Whitfield to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property and Buildings commonly known as Washington Elementary School, 1400 N. 8th Street, Quincy, Illinois at a minimum bid of $200,000 (Doc. Reg. No. 3028). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Property – Dewey School

It was moved by Member Ali and seconded by Member Nichols to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property and Buildings commonly known as Dewey Elementary School, 2040 Cherry Street, Quincy, Illinois at a minimum bid of $10,000 (Doc. Reg. No. 3029). On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Property – 515 S. 17th Street

It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member McNay to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property and Building Thereon commonly known as 515 S. 17th Street, Quincy, Illinois at a minimum sealed bid of $95,000 (Doc. Reg. No. 3030) due November 6, 2018 and opening on November 9, 2018. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Property – 2925 Lind St.

It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Arns to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property Lot #14 – 2925 Lind Street, Quincy, Illinois at a minimum sealed bid of $20,000 (Doc. Reg. No. 3031) due November 6, 2018 and opening on November 9, 2018. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Property – 2915 Lind St.

It was moved by Member McNay and seconded by Member Whitfield to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property Lot #15 – 2915 Lind Street, Quincy, Illinois at a minimum sealed bid of $20,000 (Doc. Reg. No. 3032) due November 6, 2018 and opening on November 9, 2018. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Sale of School Property – 2911 Lind St.

It was moved by Member Troup and seconded by Member Arns to approve the Resolution Providing for the Sale of School Real Property Lot #16 – 2911 Lind Street, Quincy, Illinois at a minimum sealed bid of $20,000 (Doc. Reg. No. 3033) due November 6, 2018 and opening on November 9, 2018. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following member voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

Adjourn

At 8:40 a.m., it was moved by Member Arns and seconded by Member McNay that the special meeting adjourn. On the call of the roll, the following members voted Aye: Members Ali, Arns, Bailey, McNay, Nichols, Troup, and Whitfield; and the following members voted Nay: None. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the special meeting was duly adjourned.
