City of Quincy issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.
Meet Jenny Hayden, our City Clerk, which is an elected position. She will be with the City for 30 years on May 1st 2019. As the clerk she is responsible for all council proceedings both at the meetings and behind the scenes. She makes sure the City Municipal Code book is updated, and makes sure the City follows all municipal rules and regulations. Her office offers hunting and fishing licenses, business licenses, and works to know what is happening throughout the City so when someone calls they are able to answer questions or refer them to the right department. She works very closely with her Deputy Clerk, Laura Oakman. While Quincy has established parties, she works with both sides of the aisle to keep a good working relationship with both the aldermen and the mayor. Sometimes she feels like the mom to our aldermen. She has worked very hard to continue her education, by going to municipal clerk seminars once a year, and continuing her schooling. She recently achieved her Master Municipal Clerk certification. She has greatly enjoyed her time in the city, and encourages those wanting to get into politics to do so.
