CITY OF QUINCY: City Hall Holiday Closings & Garbage and Recycling Schedule Changes

City of Quincy issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.

Quincy City Hall will close at Noon on Monday, December 24 and will be closed all day Tuesday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas Holiday. The Water Department in City Hall will be closed all day on Monday, December 24. City Hall will reopen Wednesday, December 26th, for regular business hours. The City Council Meeting normally scheduled for Monday will take place Wednesday, December 26 at 7 p.m.

Quincy City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, January 1 in observance of the New Year’s Holiday. City Hall will reopen Wednesday, January 2, 2019, for regular business hours. The City Council Meeting normally scheduled for Monday will take place Wednesday, January 2 at 7 p.m.

Central Services will be open on Monday, December 24 from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. They will be closed on Tuesday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas Holiday and Tuesday January 1, 2018 in observance of the New Year’s Holiday. They will be open regular hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Garbage and Recycle normally scheduled for Monday December 24 will be picked up on Friday, December 21, 2018 along with the regular Friday route. Garbage and Recycle normally scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 25 will be picked up Wednesday, December 26th along with the regular Wednesday routes. Garbage and Recycle normally scheduled for Tuesday, January 1 will be picked up on Wednesday, January 2 along with the regular Wednesday routes.

City buses will not be operating on Christmas Day but will operate on their regular schedule on Christmas Eve until 4 p.m. and New Years Eve until 6 p.m. The buses will operate on their Sunday/Holiday schedule on New Year’s Day.
