BLESSING HEALTH SYSTEM: Paris Family Medical Clinic to join Blessing Physician Services

Business

Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on Dec. 3.

Paris Family Medical Clinic, its providers and staff are joining Blessing Physician Services (BPS) with an expected effective date of January 1, 2019.

Mary Crawford, DO, and Deborah Shouse, family nurse practitioner, have provided care in the Paris community since 2002 and will continue to provide care at the clinic.

BPS, established in 2005 as part of the Blessing Health System, is a multi-specialty practice group that serves residents of western Illinois, northeast Missouri and southeast Iowa. BPS is a member of the Blessing Health System, which also includes Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, Illinois, and Hannibal Clinic, which operates clinics throughout northeast Missouri.

Dr. Crawford says making Paris Family Medical Clinic a BPS provider brings opportunities to enhance quality of care.

“Running a medical clinic brings with it business-related responsibilities in addition to responsibility to deliver quality healthcare,” said Dr. Crawford. “Becoming part of BPS allows clinic staff to focus on the responsibility to deliver quality healthcare while members of the BPS administrative and support teams focus on business-related responsibilities.”

“One of the most rewarding aspects of providing care in a small rural community is watching our patients grow from childhood to adulthood, and adulthood to maturity as we have done for the past 16 years,” she continued.

“Blessing is a local and strong organization of skilled and friendly people. It is a good fit for the clinic, Paris and the surrounding area,” Dr. Crawford concluded.

“Blessing Health System believes people should not have to leave their home community to get the level of healthcare they deserve,” said Maureen Kahn, RN, MHA, MSN, president/chief executive officer, Blessing Health System. “This is particularly important in rural areas and too often more difficult to achieve without a partnership. BPS is proud to have Paris Clinic as part of the family and will provide Dr. Crawford and the clinic team with the support needed to meet the health needs of Paris area residents for many years to come.”

“We could not be more excited about Dr. Crawford, Deborah Shouse and the Paris Family Medical Clinic staff joining the BPS provider team,” said Scott Koelliker, executive vice president, BPS. “They deliver the kind of care on which BPS was built; where the patient is treated as a fellow human being – complex, unique and special – and not as a diagnosis.”

Located in Monroe County, Missouri, the Paris Family Medical Clinic is at 102 E. Marion Street in Paris. The clinic operates Monday through Friday. The phone number is 660-327-4911.
