QUINCY AREA CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU: Great River Eagle Days

Announcement

Quincy Area Convention & Visitors Bureau issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.

The Great River Eagle Days is an annual celebration of the return of the bald eagle and Native American culture in Western Illinois. The Standing Bear Council hosts their winter gathering with the event, to be held at the Oakley Lindsay Civic Center, 3rd & York St. Quincy, IL on Jan 26-27, 2019 from 10-5pm Sat and Sun 10-4pm.

Professional entertainment from world champion hoop dancer, Brian Hammil will perform both days, along with children's crafts, Black Fox drum circle, Native American educators and native food, along with displays and vendors. Admission at the civic center is $5 for 10 and older, $3 for 60 and over.

Lock and Dam 21 will have US Army Corp rangers on site from 9-2pm both days to offer free spotting scopes and assistance in finding the eagles in their natural habitat over the waters at the lock and dam.
