City of Quincy issued the following announcement on Nov. 14.
Do you reside in Ward 6? Meet one of your aldermen, Jeff Vancamp. Jeff is currently serving his 1st term. Ward 6 is the southwestern part of the city. As alderman, he answers phone calls from constituents about problems they are having or things they want to see changed with the City. There are also many committee meetings that take place. Every Monday night we are here trying to make the city a better place than it was when we got here. One thing Jeff is most proud of is putting together and presenting the Road Map to Sustainability Report. The committee looked at the City’s finances and where the City stands currently. They presented to council ten suggestions on how to enhance the City’s revenue and eight suggestions on how the City could reduce expenses. Jeff says if council takes up even a few of these suggestions we will be better off than before. He wants to remind those in Ward 6 to call him regarding a concern or problem no matter how big or small it might be.
