City of Quincy issued the following announcement on Nov. 7.
The City of Quincy and Quincy Transit Lines is proud to announce that Quincy Transit Lines is now available on Google Maps from tablets or cell phones.
"Quincy Transit has been working with a consultant for a year getting our routes entered into the Google Transit system. We are excited to roll out the final version. This will allow our residents and visitors to the City the ability to locate the closest bus stop to where they live, work or shop and get directions on the quickest way to get from those locations to their destination," said Transportation Director, Marty Stegeman.
This application will allow a person to enter a starting point anywhere within the City limits and then a destination and the application will provide the user with the route as options. This application will show estimated times of arrival at the destination.
"In some cases more than one route will be shown which gives the person the chance to pick the route they like the best," said Stegeman.
This is one step in our effort to improve the experience of our riders and provide the residents of Quincy and visitors with the ability to plan their travel throughout the City.
A link to this application is available on the Quincy Transit Lines website and is also provided below.
