Blessing Health System issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.
On this day 35 years ago, the Blessing Foundation was founded. In 35 years, grants of over $42 million have been made to the Health System.
What does the Foundation do? Here's a glimpse. In August the Foundation processed 121 restricted fund requests. Most requests are urgent and needed immediately. Requests range from gasoline assistance for patients to monthly rent and house payments, educational items for patients and families, wheelchair rental, diabetic supplies, music therapy sessions for hospice patients, medication, durable medical equipment, nutritional supplements, lodging in hotels or the Quincy Hospitality House, sandals for patients who arrive without shoes, cell phone bills, electric bills, water bills, groceries for a new mother, calming aids and tools for adolescent behavioral patients and auto repair bills. Your generosity to the Foundation restricted funds help those in medical need and financial disability.
