BLESSING HOSPITAL: Women invited to free wellness event

Health wellness

Blessing Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 29.

Blessing Health System invites area women to attend “Be Strong! Women’s Wellness in Action” from 9 am to Noon on Saturday, September 29 at the Blessing Wellness Center, 4917 Oak. There is no cost but registration is required because space is limited.

Be Strong will feature a vein screening, bone density scan, DermaScan for skin, and blood pressure reading. Demonstrations will include a variety of fitness activities by members of the Blessing Wellness Center team including POUND, chair yoga, Intro to Barre and Jump Start for beginners. The event will also include a cooking demonstration and a seminar on how the Active Release chiropractic technique treats pain and tension in muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerves that limit range of motion. Informational booths, giveaways and refreshments will also be available.

“This is our third Women’s Wellness in Action event in the past year,” said Maureen Kahn, RN, MHA, MSN, President/Chief Executive Officer, Blessing Health System. “We know that women are busy caring for others in their immediate and extended family and often times don’t take time to stop to consider their health and wellness needs. Women’s Wellness in Action events provide the chance to do just that and area women are responding to the opportunity.”
