West Central Community Unit School District 235 Board of Education met June 10.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was called to order by President Schaley at 4:30 p.m., in the District Office. The following board members answered roll call: Gullberg, Lenahan, and Schaley. Abent was: Higgins, Clark, Chockley and Vancil. Also present were Superintendent Day, K. Lafary, two elementary teachers and representatives from playground. companies. President Schaley left the meeting at 5:15 p.m.

APPROVE AGENDA

Motion by Lenahan, seconded by Gullberg to approve the agenda as presented. Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

The Board discussed a new playground project for the elementary school. The discussion included representation from two playground firms (Tracy Gruener from CustomPro Mo andTim Shelton from Team REIL Inc). The playground firms discussed equipment, surfacing needs, timelines, installation and opportunities for options within all of those categories. The information from this meeting will be used at the Board Retreat on June 21st to continue the discussion and then moved forward to create a play to purchase and install a new playground for the elementary school.

FUTURE MEETING DATE

The Board was reminded of the Regular Board Meeting that will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in the Elementary Cafeteria..

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Gullberg, seconded by Lenahan to adjourn at 7:50 p.m. Majority of Ayes by Voice Vote. Motion carried.
