Call to Order and Roll Call
The Southeastern Community Unit District #337 Board of Education met in regular session on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 in the Board of Education Office in Augusta, Illinois. Mark Hitz, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Roll Call verified that there was a quorum of the Board of Education with the following members present and absent as listed below:

On a motion by Member Stephens, and a second by Member Tippey, the Board of Education approved the agenda items as amended.

Approval of Minutes
On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member Bunnell, the Board of Education approved the minutes from the March 26, 2025 regular meeting and closed session.

On a motion by Member Stephens and a second by Member Bunnell, the Board of Education accepted the Official Canvass of the 2025 board election results.

Adjournment of the Current Board Sine Die
On a motion by Member Tippey and a second by Member Bunnell at 6:32 p.m. the Board of Education adjourned the April 23, 2025 meeting of the outgoing Board of Education sine die.

Administering of the Oath of Office to Newly Elected Board Members
Newly elected board member Lanning and re-elected board members Henry, Hitz, Stephens, and Tippey recited the official oath which was administered by Superintendent Lantz. Following the recitation, newly elected board members signed the Oath of Office.
At this time, Superintendent Lantz thanked outgoing member Stevens for her commitment, dedication, and service to the school board and school district.
Selection of a President Pro Tem
The board appointed Mark Hitz as president pro tem.

President pro tem Hitz asked for nominations for the office of Board President. On a motion by Tippey and a second by Bunnell, the Board appointed Mark Hitz as Board President.

Superintendent Lantz reviewed mandated board member training and board member expectations.

Special Recognition
Superintendent Lantz presented the Board Excellence Awards: April Sun of the Month, FCLA Section Rally and State Conference results, FBLA Illinois State Leadership Conference results and National Qualifiers, FBLA Western Area February/March Illinois Member of the Month, FBLA Western Area President, FBLA Illinois State Vice-President, and KHQA Do-or-Die Boys Basketball: A Bright Light in Dark Places.
Financial
Superintendent Lantz reviewed the monthly financial snapshot which shows we are 75% into the fiscal year. We have received 100% of our budgeted revenue and have spent 74% of our budgeted expenditures.
On a motion by Member Stephens and a second by Member Bunnell, the Board of Education approved the bills, financial statements, and activity funds.

On a motion by Member Bunnell and a second by Member Stephens, the Board of Education moved into closed session at 7:32 p.m. for security procedures, school building safety and security, and the use of personnel and equipment to respond to an actual, a threatened or a reasonably potential danger to the safety of employees, students, staff, the public, or public property.
