The Regular meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Members present: Baucom, Cecil, Derhake, Mixer, Mowen, Obert and Sims. Absent: none 7 present. Also present: Kelle Bunch, Jody Obert, Kimberly Harrison, Madelyn Hyer, Tamra Longlett, Andrea Akers, Rachel Whitlock, Alisia Pittman, Chris Taylor.

Motion by Obert, seconded by Mowen that the board of education open FY25 proposed budget public hearing. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Baucom, Cecil, Derhake, Mixer, Mowen, Obert and Sims 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

The board of education discussed applying for a matching School Maintenance Grant FY25 for air in the HS gym using $50,000 from the grant and $100,000 from Tort Funds for FY25 and FY26. This item will be voted on at a later date.
The board of education discussed netting/fence for the baseball and softball bleacher areas. This item will be voted on at a later date.
Motion by Mowen, seconded by Cecil that the board of education approves the new landscaping from the Leon Lentz Memorial. Roll Call Vote: Aye: Baucom, Cecil, Derhake, Mixer, Mowen, Obert and Sims 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.
Motion by Mowen seconded by Mixer that the board goes into closed session. Time: 8:36 p.m. Meeting in Closed Session on the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the School District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves, as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District.; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of securities, investments, or investment contracts; f) emergency security procedures; g) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation; j) evaluation of attorney; k) approval of certain closed session minutes for distribution to the public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act.
