It is the time of year when deer activity increases on roads. Drivers are advised to be extra cautious, especially at dawn and dusk. Scanning roadsides for "eyeshine," which is the reflection of headlights in a deer's eyes, can help in spotting them early. It is important to remember that if one deer is seen, there are likely more nearby. To prevent accidents, drivers should avoid slamming on the brakes or swerving if they encounter deer on the road.
