John Wood Community College Finance & Audit Committee met Feb. 13.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The Finance Committee met on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at John Wood Community College. Present were Randy Greenwell and Don Hess; trustees, Josh Welker; dean of business services & institutional effectiveness, Dr. Bryan Renfro; president, Nora Klingele; director of fiscal services, and Jenny Venvertloh; note taker.
• Bills for Payment - The bills for both December and January were reviewed and will be recommended for payment.
• Approval of Travel Requests – The committee reviewed the overnight travel forms that have been submitted and recommended them for approval.
• Financials - The financials for both December and January were reviewed and will be recommended for approval.
• Board Budget – The budget was reviewed.
• Review & Discuss Investments - The investment report was reviewed.
• Board Items
o Dual Credit Tuition Discount Rate – The College is establishing two dual credit tuition discount rates. One rate would be for dual credit courses taught in person at the high school location where the instructor is a high school employee. The second rate would be for dual credit courses taught in person at a high school where the instructor is a JWCC employee. These rates would be effective for the fall 2024 term. It is recommended that the Board of Turstees approve the two dual credit discount tuition rates.
o Robotic Trainer Bid – The College received bids to provide a Fanuc ER-41A educational package robotic trainer to be used in the mobile trailer that will be providing on-site training for companies and schools. The purchase will be bought with the SCCT #2 (ATOMAT) grant. It is recommended the Board of Trustees accept the bid and award to Williams Crow, Inc. DBS Aidex Corporation in the amount of $34,350.00.
