Hawks Fall in The Sunshine State

 The Quincy University Men's Lacrosse team played against Palm Beach Atlantic University down in the sunshine state on Friday (March 17th). The Hawks would end up losing this one (23-12)

After three unanswered goals to start the game by the Sailfish, Jayme Brain would score the first goal of the game for the Hawks at the 9:34 minute mark cutting the deficit down to 3-1. John Jennings would find the back of the net for QU's second goal of the game with 5:45 remaining in the first quarter making it a 5-2 game. 

Ty Gillitzer and Blaine Lowrance would score back to back goals less than 1 minute apart to cut the Hawks deficit down in half to 8-4. Later in the second quarter Donald Griffith would score two goals of his own to bring QU within 3 goals, but two late goals by the Sailfish would give them a 11-6 lead heading into half. 

The Hawks looked to chip away at their deficit in the third quarter and goals by Nick Woodworth and Donald Griffith would bring the Hawks within five with seven minutes remaining in the third quarter. Jayme Brain would score his second goal of the game at the 3:49 minute mark in the third quarter, but Palm Beach Atlantic would score seven unanswered goals to blow the game open 21-9 with 7:45 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. 

QU would score three goals in the fourth quarter with Jayme Brain, Ty Gillitzer, and Christian Czarny each finding the back of the net, but this wouldn't be enough as the Hawks lose this one 23-12.

Quincy University would be back at home for their next game as they host Colorado State University Pueblo on Monday (March 20th) at the Rock for a 6:00 pm start.
