Hawks Score Eleven Second Half Goals in Win

The Hawks and Adams State Grizzlies battled each other and the wet field conditions under the lights of QU Stadium. QU came away with the 13-6 victory thanks to seven unanswered goals in the 2nd half.

ASU scored the first 2 goals of the game in the opening 5 minutes. It took 12 minutes of game time for the Hawks to find the back of the net as Jordan Ernst scored his first of 6 goals. Ty Gillitzer tied the game at 2. The Grizzlies would respond with two goals of their own to take the 4-2 lead into the halftime break.

Opening up the 3rd quarter, Mason Marano found Jordan Ernst for three consecutive goals to give QU the 5-4 lead. After ASU tied it up at 5, the Hawks scored the next seven goals. During that run, QU took advantage of the man-up situations to score three goals. Donald Griffith, Jayme Brain and Ernst had two goals each. Blaine Lowrance scored the last goal of the spurt. Gage Evans capped off the scoring on a man-up advantage.
