John Wood Community College Finance & Audit Committee met Dec. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Finance Committee met on Monday, December 12, 202, at 1:00 p.m., at John Wood Community College. Present were Randy Greenwell and Don Hess; trustees, Josh Welker; Dean of Business Services & Institutional Effectiveness, Mike Elbe; president, John Reinhardt, director of fiscal services, and Jenny Venvertloh; note taker.

• Bills for Payment - The bills were reviewed and will be recommended for payment.

• Approval of Travel Requests – The committee reviewed the out of district travel forms that were submitted and recommended them for approval.

• Financials - The financials were reviewed and will be recommended for approval.

• Board Budget – The Board budget was reviewed.

• President’s Expense Account – The President’s expense account was reviewed.

• Review & Discuss Investments - The investment report was reviewed. First Bankers Trust has increased our rate on our checking account. We are in the process of closing the savings accounts at People’s Prosperity. This was set up for our interest payment deposits. They will send checks in the future.

• Board Items

o Tax Levy – Resolutions and Certificates will be presented regarding the tax levy.

o Audit – the final audit is being presented.

o Heat Pump Request for Proposals – RFP’s were received to provide heat pumps for the Student Activity Center. It is recommended to accept the proposal and award to Peters Heating & Air Conditioning in the amount of $51,667.00.

o Stage Electric Automation Request for Proposals – RFP’s were received to provide electric automation for the auditorium stage. It is recommended to accept the proposal and award to Associated Controls + Design in the amount of $105,631.00.

o Courtyard Sound Equipment Request for Proposals – RFP’s were received to provide sound equipment for the courtyard. It is recommended to accept the proposal and award to Conference Technologies in the amount of $37,069.80.

o Farm Lease – It is recommended to authorize the College to renew the cash rent farm lease with Michael and William Deters.
