Liberty Community Unit #2 Board of Education met Jan. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Regular meeting was called to order at 6:29 p.m. Members present: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 present 0 absent. Also present: Kelle Bunch, Jody Obert, Justin Edgar, Michael Smith, Schanan Kivett, Kim Buyck, Chris Taylor, Allen Flynn, Greg McMillan, Amanda Barry, Michelle McMillan, Krista Tenhouse and Jonalban Howell.

Motion by Voga, seconded by Baucom that the board of education approve the Routine Consent Agenda.

Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhakc, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

Motion by Derhake, seconded by Voga that the board of education approve the Consent Agenda.

Roll Call Vote: Aye: Bany, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

Allen Flynn left at 7:00 p.m.

Motion by Derhake, seconded by Voga that the board of education approve the following:

- Superintendent’s Evaluation for 2021-22

- The bid from Moore's Floor, Inc. for carpet in the K-2 building and in the Chorus and Band Room, funded 1/2 by the Maintenance Grant FY22 and 12 Tort Funds.

- The bid from King Waterproofing and Foundation Solution to fix the water leak in the Pre-K.

- Part of the Esser III Grant money dedicated for repairs/renovations to fix the roof over the new high school section (2000 edition)

Motion by Voga, seconded by Baucom that the board go into closed session. Time: 7:28 p.m. Meeting in Closed Session on the following subjects: a) the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the School District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves, as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District.; b) collective negotiating matters between the School District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees; c) the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District; d) the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the District; e) the sale or purchase of securities, investments, or investment contracts; f) emergency security procedures; 9) student disciplinary cases; h) the placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; i) pending, probable, or imminent litigation; j) evaluation of attorney; k) approval of certain closed session minutes for distribution to thc public; or other matters appropriate for a closed meeting pursuant to the Open Meetings Act.

Motion by Derhakc, seconded by Baucom that the board of education go out of closed session. 9:25 p.m.

Motion by Derhake, seconded by Voga that the board of education approve the Covid Stipends to the staff as discussed in closed session.

Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barry, Baucom, Derhake, Mixer, Obert, Sims and Voga. 7 ayes 0 nays. M.C.

Motion by Derhake, seconded by Voga that the board of education approve Justin Edgar as CTE Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year.

Roll Call Vote: Aye: Barty, Baucom, Derhakc, Obert, Sims and Voga. Nay: Mixer. 6 ayes 1 nays. M.C.

Motion by Voga, seconded by Derhake that the board of education approve the personnel report, excluding D which was voted on a separate motion, as attached.

Motion by Baucom, seconded by Mixer that the board of education adjourn.. Time: 9:28 p.m.
