The Quincy University women's lacrosse team finished their road trip in Michigan coming short on a 17-6 defeat against Northern Michigan University.
Quincy started strong with goals from Josephina Szmanda and Danielle Robinson in the first five minutes. The Hawks lost momentum and trailed by three going into the second period.
The second period saw two more Hawks goals. Patricia Chavira scored her third goal of the season on a Robinson assist. Shortly after Szmanda found the net again and scored a free position goal.
Kara Wilhelm got on the board with a free position shot in the third period. Szmanda wrapped up the Hawks score in the final period off a Wilhelm assist. Szmanda tallied her first multi-goal game of her career.
Kelly McClure finished the game with 20 saves.
