Payson Community Unit School District #1 Board of Education met Nov. 16.

CALL TO ORDER Lisa Schwartz, president, called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
ROLL CALL Nancy Cromie, district secretary, called roll with the following members present: Denise Albsmeyer, Danelle Donley, Trista Neisen, Lisa Schwartz, Vinson Sill and Clint Twaddle. Chanse Barker was absent.
Also present were Donna Veile, Julie Phelan, Barb Speckhart, Don Miller and Nancy Cromie.
VISITORS Becky Bingaman, Diane Germann, Tahnee Bauer, Joe Fessler and Lucas Brass
PUBLIC Becky Bingaman, Joe Fessler and Lucas Brass addressed the board about proposed athletic projects that the athletic club and summer league would help fund. The board directed them to put together a prioritized list and submit it.
AD REPORT Don Miller reported on the status of current sports.
TECHNOLOGY REPORT Barb Speckhart talked about adding additional security cameras and eRate Emergency Connectivity funds. A technology audit has taken place and she is waiting on the results.
CONSENT AGENDA Sill made a motion to approve the consent agenda. Twaddle seconded the motion. AYE: Albsmeyer, Donley, Neisen, Sill, Twaddle and Schwartz NAY: None
SUPERINTENDENT REPORT Donna Veile talked about Title I eligibility, natural gas agreement and a tax relief grant application. She shared the insurance inspection report and gave an update on HVAC and the handrails at the high school. The district is not currently dealing with any food supply chain shortages. There was a reminder that the December meeting is on Wednesday, December 15.
RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN Twaddle made a motion to approve the risk management plan. Schwartz seconded the motion. AYE: Donley, Neisen, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer and Schwartz NAY: None
ESTIMATED 2021 TAX LEVY Schwartz made a motion to approve the estimated 2021 tax levy and determined that a hearing was not required. Donley seconded the motion. AYE: Donley, Neisen, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer, Schwartz NAY: None
CLOSED SESSION AUDIO RECORDINGS Sill made a motion to destroy all closed session audio recordings older than 18 months. Schwartz seconded the motion. AYE: Neisen, Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer, Donley and Schwartz NAY: None
ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL REPORT Julie Phelan submitted a report on parent/teacher conferences, Veteran’s Day video and Kindness week. She shared MAP data.
SECONDARY PRINCIPAL REPORT Dawn VanCamp submitted a report on parent/teacher conferences, student activities, drills, and staff training.
MOVE TO CLOSED SESSION Albsmeyer made a motion to move into closed session for the purpose of discussing the employment of personnel, student matters, and other items appropriate for closed session. Schwartz seconded the motion. AYE: Sill, Twaddle, Albsmeyer, Donley, Neisen and Schwartz NAY: None
