Q2 Recap: 2 parolees from Adams County convicted of financial crimes or fraud set for release

There were two offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud living in Adams County released on parole during the second quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Quincy Reporter.

The data shows a man and a woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud was 47. The younger parolee was a 38-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 56-year-old woman sentenced in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Altheia L. Buckner. She was convicted in 2019 when she was 54 years old. She is now 56.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
